Sunday Morning social rides – These rides leave from outside Farmers, Tuwharetoa Street (Next to McDonalds drivethru) Taupo. Start time from Sunday 2nd September is 8am sharp! There are 2 groups available, a slower group with average speed 20-25kmph distance approximately 40-50km, or faster group, average speed 26-30kmph, distance between 70-100+ km. We will regroup at designated points along the way. Please remember to bring 2 water bottles, food, spare tube & pump and most importantly some $ for a coffee at the end of the ride. The Fern cafe in the Suncourt courtyard is a great spot plenty of places to park the bike, plenty of seating and is very sheltered.
These rides are a great way to experience the beauty of our district, and its always more fun riding with a group. These rides are a social pedal, not a race, which gives cyclists an opportunity to gather together for a pleasant Sunday morning ride. All visitors are welcome.
Both of these rides are designed to finish at approx 10.30am thanks to Fern cafe, Suncourt Plaza, Tamamutu Street, for coffee, please bring $ for this.

Ohaaki Loop: 72km, relatively easy ride. 2 1/2 – 3 hrs. Heading back to Taupo sometimes a challenge if it is windy. Avoid this course if it is foggy. Ohaki Loop
Farm Loop: 50km, A club favorite. Great ride on quiet rural undulating roads. Ride has many roads back to Taupo if you need to cut the ride short. Add Marpara to add 1/2 hr to the ride Farm Loop
WBOP Champs Circuit: 20.7 km Loop. Circuit for 2012 and 2013 WBOP champs. Tough climb with long false flat at top. Start Finish at AC Baths/Squash club. Smaller laps of the Centennial loop could be used to supplement the course to get desired length. WBOP Champs Circuit
Town Loop: This is a popular loop to do in the evening. Never far from town, people can join & leave. In specific spots, we do high cadence sprints, combined with some uphill efforts. Do 2-3 laps for a great workout Town Loop
